- August 2010 - Swedish Prosecutors issue two arrest warrants for Julian Assange relating to an alleged rape. Julian Assange denies the allegations
- December 2010 - Julian Assange is arrested in London
- May 2012 - UK Supreme Court rules to extradite Mr Assange to Sweden to
face charges
- June 2012 - Mr Assange enters the Ecuadorian embassy in London
- August 2012 - Ecuador grants asylum to Julian Assange, concerned that
his human rights may be violated if he is extradited.
- August 2015 - Swedish Prosecutors drop the investigation into allegations of sexual molestation-
he still faces rape charges
- October 2015 - London Metropolitan Police withdraw officers from their station
outside the Ecuadorian embassy
- February 2016 - UN rules that Julian Assange has been "arbitrarily detained"
by UK and Swedish authorities since 2010
- May 2017 - Swedish Director of public prosecutions announces the rape investigation
is being dropped
